Player's Code of Conduct

- On-Course Behaviour
Players must maintain a high standard of behaviour during all TGA representative events, tournaments, coaching sessions, travel, and team activities. Players are expected to observe the etiquette and Rules of Golf, treat playing partners, opponents, officials, volunteers, staff, spectators, and team members with courtesy and respect, and refrain from abusive language, equipment abuse, cheating, intimidation, harassment, or poor sportsmanship. - Off-Course Behaviour
Players must conduct themselves responsibly at all times when representing, traveling with, attending events for, or being publicly associated with TGA. Conduct outside official TGA activities may also be considered where it has a direct and serious connection to TGA, the team, or the game of golf. - Alcohol Consumption
Alcohol must not be consumed before or during play, practice, team preparation, travel, or official duties. After completion of play for the day, players aged 18 or over may consume alcohol only with the approval of the Team Manager and only to a maximum of two standard drinks. Serious or repeated breaches, or any breach involving an under-18 player, intoxication, unsafe behaviour, or supply of alcohol to another player in breach of this policy, may be treated as serious misconduct.
- Anti-Doping & Drug Policy
Players must comply with all applicable anti-doping rules, including the current Sports Anti-Doping Rules adopted by Golf New Zealand, Sport Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui, WADA, and any relevant event authority. Separately from anti-doping obligations, the possession, use, supply, or attempted supply of illegal drugs, synthetic drugs, or intoxicating substances at any TGA event, trip, accommodation, team activity, or while representing TGA is prohibited.
- Uniform Requirements
Players must wear the uniforms and apparel provided for travel, tournaments, and official functions as instructed by the Manager. - Use of Sponsor Equipment
Players must use equipment supplied by Association sponsors when applicable and return all apparel and equipment when requested by the Manager. - Care of Equipment & Apparel
Association property must not be permanently exchanged, transferred, altered, sold, or disposed of without approval from the Manager. - Punctuality & Attendance
Players must be punctual for all travel, tournaments, functions, coaching sessions, and team or squad meetings. - Team Availability
Players selected for a TGA team or squad are expected to make reasonable efforts to be available for team commitments and must advise the Manager as early as possible of any unavailability, injury, illness, or conflict. - Damage to Property
Any deliberate or reckless damage caused by a player while representing the Taranaki Golf Association may result in the Association seeking reimbursement for all related costs. - Compliance with Manager Directives
Players must follow all lawful and reasonable directions from the Manager regarding conduct and behaviour.
Disciplinary Action
Any alleged breach of this Code of Conduct will be investigated and managed by the Taranaki Golf Association in accordance with its disciplinary procedures.
