Great to see Pennant games underway around the province. The ladies are well into their 9-hole, midweek and weekend pennants, alongside the men's handicap pennants. It's a fantastic opportunity for players to experience different courses across the region and, of course, put the competitive hat on.

Taranaki Golf is out and about working to strengthen and improve our golfing environment across the province.

We held a Representative Evening on 3rd March to review how we operate our adult representative programme. This was essentially a reset and an opportunity for all interested players to contribute as we look ahead and refine how we work in this space alongside Men's Director of Golf, Andrew Searle, and Women's Director of Golf, Debbie McCallum.

Our Women's Masters team travels to Taupō to compete in the New Zealand Women's Masters Interprovincial from 27 – 29 March.
The team in playing order is Joanne McDonald, Kaye Maree Mihaljevich, Meena Reilly,  Gareth Hughes, Non Travelling Reserve Lorinda Webb.

The Rules Evening at Ngāmotu Golf Club on 5 March was excellent, with lot's learnt!  We look forward to seeing what our Director of Rules, Greg Clarke, has in store to help improve our understanding of the game moving forward.

On Monday 16 March at Ngāmotu Golf Club, we host the second of our City Coaching sessions for beginners and frustrated golfers. This session will focus on the specific areas participants are finding challenging, with groups split into irons, chipping, bunkers and putting.

March also signals the start of our Course Rating visits. An experienced team of volunteers will be out rating courses across the region. This year we will visit Opunake, Kaitake, Stratford and Westown. If you're interested in observing the process, please let me know.

Great news for our Futures golfers — thanks to the support of all our clubs, they can now play across all 18 courses in the province. Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions about our junior programme or how you can support it, please contact Lucinda.

She Loves Golf continues to operate at several clubs, providing valuable opportunities to attract more women into our game and your club. This remains a priority area. We will be working on ways Taranaki Golf can further support clubs in this space — keep an eye out for more information soon. Any queries, please contact Chris Hill.

And finally, make sure you check out our website for results, events and draws. If we don't know about your event, please send it through and we'll add it to the calendar.
